On location in Koppangen, Norway
In late April we traveled to the heart of the Lyngen Alps in search for big mountain adventures. Koppangen is a small place on the west side of the Lyngen fjord and it was the perfect starting point for our trip. The crew were based on the luxurious boat Vulkana for a whole week.
The goal was to explore what the Lyngen Alps has to offer together with Eirik Finseth, Aksel Lund Svindal and Eric Hjorleifson. The Olympic gold medalist in Super-G, Aksel Lund Svindal joined us for the fifth time since year 2008 and each year he is improving his freeskiing skills. Eric Hjorleifson was a part of Field Productions Eyes Wide Open back in 2009, and is one of Canadas finest freeskiers to date. He has proven to be one of the worlds best big mountain skiers during the past years with breath taking film segments and an impecable way of skiing. Eirik Finseth is a fearless Norwegian skier with an extraordinary capability to read the mountains and ski them fast. As always we had Norways most experienced mountain guide Tor Olav Naalsund taking charge of the mountain awareness.
The setting of the trip turned out to be very unique. Mixing different personalities who are sharing the same passion for skiing is always interesting, especially Aksel and Eric who comes from two completely different backgrounds.
You can see the result in the full length film releasing November 2013, and also be sure to check out the VGTV behind the scenes series coming this fall for a sneak peak of what to expect. In the meantime you can see the photos on the right.
Thanks to everyone involved for making this trip happen!
Digermulen in Lofoten, Norway is a community surrounded by some of the most unique mountains ranges available in this planet. It all started with an invite from Eivind Drivflaadt that owns Villa Lofoten (see photo in the gallery). Together with Asbjørn Eggebø Næss he has been exploring the mountains around Digermulen the past years. The dramatic scenery with the mix between ocean and the alpine peaks makes Digermulen a very special place. For the fourth time Aksel Lund Svindal joined Field Productions for a freesking trip, and this time together with Henrik Windstedt and Asbjørn Eggebø Næss. It is worth mentioning that it was the biggest production crew in Field Productions history, and still the crew were lucky enough to get three days in the mountains, both in the high alpine terrain and in the trees.
You will see the result of the succesful trip to Digermulen in both the new movie and web-tv series coming October 2011. Be sure to check out the photo gallery to the right.
Big thanks to all the people involved for making this trip happen.
